We love traveling and around the corner of every place are hidden shapes and lines that lead us to create. This Circle and diamond design is inspired by a door from the Grecian islands. The print went through a multiple printing process. Starting with printing a mud resist for the big circle, then dyeing it in light indigo, and then printing mud resist again for the diamond shape, then dyeing it again in dark indigo to create the multiple color dazzle! • hand printed using carved wooden blocks • dyed in natural dyes • color - dark and light indigo • fabric - medium weight cotton • 3 inch open rod pocket + back tabs • includes 1 panel * Please note that sizes may vary 1-2 inches and color variance may occur based on the intake of natural dyes per fabric. --------------------------------------- ABOUT BLOCK PRINTING Block Printing is an ancient printing technique especially with the use of vegetable dyes. After the wooden block is carved with the pattern, the fabric is then prepared with multiple washes to make the fiber ready to take the dye. With the process of multiple printings and washing before the final product is placed in a dye bath of flowers and barks, the fabric goes through the hands of the block printer and dyer with utmost care. That same care is passed onto the consumer who wishes to take part in this process of honoring the craft and the earth that gives us so much.
