• Woolly Mammoth Fur: This 20,000 year old fur once insulated a woolly mammoth against the unforgiving Ice Age cold. These colossal herbivores roamed vast frozen landscapes, coexisting with early humans who used their bones and hides for shelter, tools, and warmth.
• Carnelian: Glowing with rich red and orange hues, carnelian was among the first gemstones shaped and worn by humans. Neolithic people carved it into beads and pendants, valuing it for its striking color and durability.
• Carbon Black Pigment: Long before written language, early humans painted their world in deep black strokes on cave walls. Made from burned wood or bone, carbon black was one of the first pigments used for art and ritual, a remnant of humanity’s earliest creativity.
