These summery, spicy Silk Chili Flakes come from Kahramanmaras, Turkey. You can use in any recipe calling for marash pepper or Aleppo pepper and this will easily become your new favorite chili flake. They are naturally preserved with just a little bit of salt and sunflower seed oil, which helps to keep them fresh and flavorful.
This chili is botanically identical to the Aleppo pepper, which has been cultivated in Syria for centuries. Due to the ongoing violence of the Syrian civil war, true Aleppo chili is unfortunately no longer available for import.
They have a warm, tomato-like flavor and a medium heat, similar to Espelette and Korean chilis. Use in any dish in need of a little excitement, from scrambled eggs to burgers to brownies. Perfect for use in cooking or as a finishing touch.
Usage Tips:
- Heat level: 5,000-10,000 Scoville units
- Sprinkle over pasta or pizza
- Add to soups and stews
- Use in a fresh fruit salad
- Garnish meat and veggies
- Use for Çılbır (Turkish Eggs)
Size: 1.8oz jar
